So I think I’m going to forget about trying to make time for some huge elaborate stories for my blog… and use it more like twitter, but of things I want to always remember (or just write to write lol).
Like last week, we got back from out of town pretty late in the evening and I remembered that we didn’t have any bread for Dom’s lunch the next day. So instead of a sandwich, I compensated with way too much stuff (yogurt, gushers, chips, grapes, and more… yes, more.) I told Dom that we would go get bread when I picked him up from school. He was fine with it.
Around lunch time, I received a phone call from his teacher.
T: Did you know that Dom didn’t have a sandwich in his lunch today?
Me: *nervous laugh* yes, we got home late last night and didn’t have time to go pick any up… he will have one tomorrow, no worries.
T: Ok well he had some fries that the cook made along with his lunch, so he’s fine, I just wanted to make sure you knew.
Me: Oh ok, that’s good. Thank you!
and then we hung up.
So fast forward throughout the day, we go grocery shopping and get bread, he has a sandwich the next day at school, everything is fine and dandy.
I pick him up from school the next day and proceed with our normal banter about how was school, what did he do, did he have PE or Music, blah blah blah…
I get the usual response… “I… just don’t want to talk about it” Fine.
*silence*
“Mommy?”
“yes, Dominic?”
“I’m so proud of you for getting bread for my sandwich!”
Ah the little things.

he is really loving it!! I’m so happy for him
There are only 11 kids in his class and I think 7 are boys. He has made a lot of friends and really seems to have a great time! Thanks for asking Crystal! How are your lovely children doing!?

Oh good! 11 kids– that’s awesome. I think they really need those smaller class sizes in the first school years.
All the kids are doing good, although Annika desperately wants a “best friend”. Too bad she can’t start school for another 2 years. But H and C are doing awesome at school so far, and little H is “talking” more finally. Lots of drama in the ‘hood.
I miss your more frequent blog posts but I know you are a busy woman.
